As a despatch has been recently received from the Governor on the subject & from which it appears that Mr. Senates complaints were not forwarded & for because he failed, when applied to by the Colonial Secretary for the purpose, to furnish copies of his letter to the Lee State.
From the Gov[erno]r's despatch it also appears that the action brought against Mr. Tarrant was a matter in which the Local Govt was not concerned, that his second imprisonment being for costs in the action, and that regards that imprisonment the Governor had no control or power of remission.
I am to add that Mr. Jannah having settled his longer debt in full.
